Outpatient Surgery Services

Ambulatory Care Services

The Ambulatory Care Services unit at Highlands Regional offers care for medical and diagnostic surgical procedures, outpatient blood transfusions, as well as minor surgery including cataracts, tonsils and adenoids, hernia repair, and arthroscopy. We perform approximately 800 procedures each year and 1800 endoscopy procedures.

Today, undergoing surgery no longer automatically means an extended stay in the hospital. Modern healthcare allows you to have state-of-the-art procedures and quality medical care in the hospital with recuperation in the comfort of your own home. At Highlands Regional Medical Center you will have the convenience of same-day surgery with the confidence of knowing that you are being treated in a full-service, state-of-the-art hospital. And, because we know that any hospital stay can be stressful, our skilled staff will help you through every facet of your procedure. From the preoperative registration to the follow-up phone call to check on your recovery at home, you will receive caring and individualized treatment.
