Hospital Auxiliary Services

Highlands Regional Medical Center Auxiliary

The dedicated members of the Highlands Regional Medical Center Auxiliary volunteer their time and talents throughout the hospital. They help to support our high standards of patient care, bring comfort and cheer to patients and families, perform tasks that lighten the load of hospital staff and enable the hospital to provide additional services. Their pink uniforms identify all of our Auxiliary members.

Some of the services performed by our Auxiliary include:

Gift shop operation and management

Delivery of mail to patients and hospital departments

Delivery of flowers, balloons and gifts to patients

Staffing of information desk

Assisting in numerous hospital departments

The Auxiliary also gives back to our community. Every year the organization provides seven scholarships to area college students who are majoring in a health-related career field. Our members also provide heart-shaped pillows to patients having abdominal surgery, and they have purchased CPR supplies for the hospital's education department.

Joining the Auxiliary

Areas of services for volunteers keep growing, and we need more volunteers. You will be asked to volunteer only four hours of your time each week, but you are welcome to volunteer more. Join us and share the rewards of giving to others.

For information on joining the Auxiliary, contact the hospital's information desk at 863-385-6101, ext. 5230 from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. We will be happy to discuss how you can help others by becoming part of the Auxiliary.
