"Highlands County's Choice For Obstetrics and Neonatology"
When you're expecting, the staff of the Women's & Children's Center knows how to deliver quality, compassionate care. Our team of physicians, nurses and other health-care professionals are highly trained and prepared for any circumstance. Our philosophy is to offer you individualized and personalized care.
We take pride in our ability to provide you with the most sophisticated, technologically advanced medical care in a warm, home-like environment. We will make a special effort to provide the kind of birthing experience you want without compromising your comfort and safety.
The Women's and Children's Center features six recently updated private LDRP birthing suites. The LDRP concept facilitates labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum all in the same comfortable, well-equipped room. This means all activities related to the birth take place in one room for the ease, convenience and safety of the mom and baby. With a birthing suite, the infant can "room-in" with mom, allowing more bonding time for mom, baby and family members.
Each birthing suite is equipped with a rocking chair and lounge, which folds into a bed in case a family member wants to spend the night. A private shower and bathroom are found in each suite along with a Jacuzzi tub. A Level I Newborn Nursery is located down the hall from the birthing suites and a dedicated OR suite for special operative procedures such as a Cesarean Section or other complicated deliveries is conveniently located right on the unit.
FUN FACT: In our hospital everytime you hear a lullaby on the overhead speakers you know another baby was born.
