Medical Nursing Unit
Highlands Regional Medical Center boasts a dynamic 43 bed Medical Nursing Unit on the second floor where we provide individualized nursing care and services for a broad range of medical diagnoses. Nurses, physicians, and clinical support staff collaborate daily to ensure your plan of care is evaluated and carried out according to your physician’s orders.
Our nursing staff has more than 1000 years of combined experience and includes an appropriate ratio of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Patient Care Technicians, all of whom take pride in providing you with an unparalleled level of compassion and expertise when you need it most.
During your hospitalization, a team of professionals and support staff, under the direction of your personal physician, will provide you and your family with personalized care during your hospital stay. Diagnoses such as CHF, Pneumonia and Hypertension are part of our core measures program and have the focus of all the staff involved.
If you choose, we encourage family and friends to visit you while you are here and suggest that they might bring in some of your personal care items and clothing from home to help make your stay as comfortable as possible. For your convenience and protection, we kindly ask that you try to refrain from bringing valuables to the hospital and suggest that you ask one of the staff to secure any such items until you are discharged.
Visitors are welcome between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., however, restrictions or allowances may be made according to the patient's need for quiet and rest or as special circumstances arise. Children are allowed to visit if accompanied by an adult.
